Model 575 - How to generate a negative going pulses
Model 575 - How to generate a negative going pulses
Solution
The 575 outputs positive voltage pulses only, but occasionally one needs a negative pulse for triggering devices. It is possible to invert the TTL/CMOS with an inverting pulse transformer. Pulse transformers will limit the pulse width. For easy mechanical connection, a pulse transformer with BNC connectors at either end would be ideal.
BNC does not sell such a device, but a quick search for connectorized pulse transformers with BNC connectors yielded
http://www.phillipsscientific.com/preview/425pre.htm.
This is an example of a small, packaged, in-line transformer that one should look for.
We have built a pulse transformer to confirm its effectiveness in generating negative pulses, however we have no commercial available devices at this time.
