The 6010 uses optical fiber to couple the light out
The 6010 uses optical fiber to couple the light out
Solution
To bring the light from the 6010 to your DUT (device under test), use a compatible optical fiber. The fiber within the various models of the 6010 varies, but the front panel fiber optic connector is always a 905 SMA connector.
An example: the 6010G has a 750 um diameter fiber bundle at the front panel connector. The fibers within that bundle have a NA of .55 and a OD of 46 um. In order to couple all the light from the this bundle one has to use a fiber that has a NA (numerical aperture) and OD compatible with this bundle. A commonly available fiber is a 1000 um OD PCS (plastic coated silica) fiber. It can be terminated at one end with a SMA connector and at the user end with a polished surface, encased in a metal ferrule and polished, or with a SMA connector . . .
